Gary Kildall

He was born May 19, 1942 in Seattle, Washington. His family owned a seafaring school.

He attended the University of Washington. He earned his Doctorate in computer science in 1972.

He is best known for founding Digital Research with his wife Dorothy and failing to license his biggest product, the operating system CP/M, to IBM.

He died July 8, 1994 after a fall at a Monterey, CA restaurant.
