Rod Canion

Rod Canion was born in Houston, Texas, January 19, 1945. He has no siblings. Rod graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in electrical engineering with an emphasis on computer science. He is known for helping create the world's first portable IBM-compatible PC in 1983. He was once the CEO of Compaq Computer Corporation, one the largest PC makers in the world, and is also its co-founder.

After Compaq


In 1991, Eckhard Pfeiffer replaced Canion as CEO. A few months after that, Jim Harris resigned, and both he and Canion started a new business, Insource Technology in 1992, in Houston, Texas. He remains the CEO and chairman of Insource Technology. He is still alive today.
